About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Psychiatric Adult Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7 PM - 7:30 AM) Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a psychiatric setting preferred License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Degree in Nursing (education verification required) - Current RN license - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Description: We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Behavioral Health unit. The candidate must have a current RN license and BLS certification. Shifts are 12 hours, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, with an every-other-weekend schedule. Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, and standards of care. Documents according to standards of care. Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction. Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance. Utilizes clinical expertise and provides guidance to other units or departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care. Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience and appropriately escalates issues to the appropriate chain of command. Holiday coverage is required.
