Fabricator/Welder

Fabricator Location: Ooltewah, TN (Onsite) Responsibilities This Fabricator role is responsible for operating cranes, fabricating product, and maintaining welding tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the quality and production standards of the company. Specifically, you'll: Layout, position, align and fit components into welding fixture as instructed. Set-up gas‑shield, MIG‑weld and weld parts to job specifications. Remove rough spots from castings, using portable powered grinder and hand file, to finish welded parts. Position metal components in assembly, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and rule. Lift and position components on the assembly table, using electric crane, jacks and shims. Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and weld various metal parts together. Operate various equipment necessary to fabricate (jigs, fixtures, grinders, tape measure, level, hammer, etc.). Receive instructions, print and process work orders for the job. Plan details of the working procedure and tools and material requirements. Fabricate equipment by cutting, burning and welding various metals, and clean and prepare surfaces to be welded. Set up, assemble, and tacks weld parts. Build up worn or defective surfaces, and keep equipment and work area clean and orderly. Experience and Requirements You’re a curious problem solver who can bring big ideas to life. You’re creative and scrappy but can navigate a large organization with ease. You’re agile, adaptable, and work with precision to ensure we always deliver top‑notch customer experiences. You also have: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a heavy‑duty machining/manufacturing environment, preferred. Ability to read tape measure and blueprints. Demonstrated skill level of wire‑feed (MIG) welding. Ability to read and understand work order routings and instructions. Ability to lay out parts using weld fixtures.
