Part Time Banquet ServerLegends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a Part Time Banquet Server at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts 01608. This is a part time, event related position. No set schedules or hours.Position Summary:This position is responsible for providing a high-quality catering service for banquets and receptions as well as to achieve customer satisfaction and retention.Position Responsibilities:Report for work in proper uniform according to the scheduled timeFollow instructions for each event as given by the Banquet Manager and/or Banquet SupervisorAssist with collecting all banquet equipment to include flatware, china, glassware and serving pieces needed for each eventAssist with preparing garnishes, beverages, condiments and breadsAssist with cleaning and filling salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers, etc.Assist with preparation and set up of event room when necessaryPrepare tables and place settings as instructed by the Banquet Manager and/or Banquet CaptainAttend pre-function for briefing of event detailsAlways provide friendly and courteous customer serviceRemain at assigned station and perform duties as assigned according to each eventReport any customer service concerns to the Banquet Supervisor or Banquet ManagerBreakdown tables and banquet equipment after each eventClean and return serving pieces to proper storage areaAdhere to strict grooming standards and policies of companyComplete necessary assigned side workPerform other duties as assigned and deemed necessarySupervisory Responsibilities:This position has no supervisory responsibilitiesEducation and/or Experience:High school diploma or GEDMinimum of one (1) year work experience in food and beverage environmentPrior banquet server or waiter/waitress experience preferredKnowledge of catering services terminology preferredSkills and Abilities:Ability to receive and carry out instructions in a timely mannerAbility to follow directions and effectively perform the workAbility to speak and understand English to converse with coworkers and supervisors, as well as to understand tasks issuedAbility to work irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as neededProfessional presentation, appearance and work ethicMust be at least 18 years oldAbility to work independently and with othersPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
