Job Description
This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and critical power environments. You read and interpret blueprints and schematics, lay out work for efficient execution, and lead helpers to complete projects safely and on time. You perform conduit and pipe bending, rough-in wiring, and installation of switches and other electrical components while adhering to local, state, and federal electrical codes.

Work Environment
This position is based on a construction site, working Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You primarily operate in a commercial or industrial setting on base, handling electrical installations and troubleshooting in active work areas. The role requires adherence to safety standards, including wearing steel-toe footwear, hard hats, safety vests, and safety glasses at all times on site. No medical monitoring or additional certifications are required for entry to the worksite. You use standard electrical tools and testing equipment in a fast-paced, hands-on environment that emphasizes safety, reliability, and collaboration.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.

Job Description

Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to plan and execute electrical installations.
- Lay out work for each job to ensure accurate, efficient, and code-compliant execution.
- Lead and direct helpers in the completion of electrical tasks, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Perform conduit bending and pipe bending, including EMT and rigid conduit, to route wiring according to plans.
- Complete rough-in wiring for commercial and industrial projects, including lighting, power circuits, and related systems.
- Install switches, light fixtures, and other electrical equipment and components in commercial, industrial, and critical power environments.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical equipment and systems to resolve issues and maintain reliable operation.
- Apply thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal electrical codes to ensure all work meets regulatory and safety standards.
- Use appropriate tools and electrical testing equipment to diagnose issues and verify proper installation and system performance.
- Communicate effectively with fellow employees and customers to coordinate work, clarify requirements, and maintain satisfactory work conditions.
- Follow construction site safety requirements, including use of personal protective equipment, to maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform additional duties or assignments as needed to support project completion and overall operations.
- Proven experience as a mechanic, journeyman-level, or equivalent commercial electrician.
- Strong ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical schematics, and project specifications.
- Hands-on experience running conduit, including EMT and rigid conduit, on commercial or industrial projects.
- Proficiency in conduit bending and pipe bending for various applications.
- Experience with wiring, including rough-in wiring and installation of light fixtures and switches.
- Solid understanding of local, state, and federal electrical codes and regulations.
- Ability to use electrical tools and testing equipment safely and effectively.
- Experience in construction and industrial electrical work, including power and lighting systems.
- Capability to lead and coordinate helpers or team members on the job site.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with coworkers and interact professionally with customers.
- Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve electrical issues in commercial and industrial environments.
- Experience working as a foreman, electrician, mechanic, or journeyman in commercial or industrial settings.
- Familiarity with critical power environments and related electrical systems.
- Ability to interpret and work from detailed electrical schematics and construction drawings.
- Comfort working on active construction sites and adapting to changing project needs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to performing accurate, code-compliant work.
- Reliability and flexibility to perform other duties or assignments as needed.
