Job Description

The Wilma and Peter Veldman Family Psychology Clinic at the University of Notre Dame is seeking a Data Coordinator to join our collaborative and mission-driven team. This role is central to supporting a diverse portfolio of research and clinical projects by ensuring the integrity, organization, and security of data used to advance mental health science and care.

This is a three-year, limited-term position. Contingent on funding, the position may be extended.

The Veldman Family Psychology Clinic is Notre Dame’s premier center for clinical science, training, and community mental health. As part of the College of Arts & Letters, the clinic brings together faculty, staff, and students who are pioneering innovative research, delivering exceptional care, and preparing the next generation of mental health professionals. Position Overview

The Data Coordinator position is a full-time, in-person role that supports a range of funded research projects—many of which are longitudinal studies or Randomized Clinical Trials (RCTs) involving vulnerable populations—as well as broader data management needs across the Clinic. This role requires careful attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining strict data security and separation across multiple projects.

Working closely with faculty, project staff, and students, the Data Coordinator will develop and maintain data systems, consult with research teams on best practices, ensure that data are accurate, secure, and accessible for analysis and reporting, and support the reporting of public data sharing to NIH. This role will also help establish, maintain, and support the analysis and distribution of data from clinical research databases within Clinical Services, ensuring that data systems are organized, secure, and aligned with research and operational needs. The position includes supporting project teams who carry out portions of their own data management, providing guidance and oversight to promote consistency, quality, and responsible data practices across studies. 

Key Responsibilities

Data Management & Systems

• Design, develop, and maintain databases supporting multiple concurrent research and clinical projects.
• Create and manage data collection tools, including surveys with complex branching and logic.
• Oversee data entry, cleaning, coding, integration, and validation processes.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, completeness, and accessibility.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive data documentation, codebooks, and standard operating procedures.

Clinical & Research Data Infrastructure 

• Build, monitor, and maintain secure data systems supporting both project-specific and Clinic-wide needs.
• Ensure appropriate separation of data across studies and maintain strict confidentiality protocols.
• Manage user access, data governance, and security procedures.
• Support the development and maintenance of clinical databases that facilitate research while adhering to institutional, ethical, and regulatory requirements.

Project Consultation & Support

• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students across multiple research initiatives.
• Provide consultation on database design, variable structure, data workflows, and data management best practices.
• Support project teams that manage portions of their own data by providing guidance, oversight, and training.
• Promote consistency, efficiency, and data quality across projects while accommodating study-specific needs.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure reliable and accurate data.
• Conduct audits, troubleshoot data issues, and support continuous process improvement.
• Prepare datasets for analysis, reporting, archiving, public sharing, and compliance with institutional and funder requirements, including NIH policies.

Team Participation

• Participate actively in staff meetings, trainings, and collaborative initiatives.
• Contribute to a positive, supportive team culture.
• Assist with additional duties as needed to support Clinic operations.

• Proficient with a range of data collection, management, and analysis platforms, including REDCap, Qualtrics, SPSS, Excel, and related systems.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of experience in data management, data coordination, research administration, or data analysis.
• Strong working knowledge of data collection, management, and analysis platforms (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics, SPSS, Excel).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience providing training, consultation, or technical support.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities.
• Ability to work at the University of Notre Dame without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of psychological, clinical, or community-based research.
• Experience supporting longitudinal research studies and/or randomized clinical trials.
• Experience working with vulnerable populations.
• Experience collaborating across university, clinical, school, and community-based systems.
• Experience working in school-based or community service settings.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

Additional Information

• Application Deadline: Sunday, June 28, 2026.
• Hiring Pay Range: Up to $58,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
