Safety Conscience Heavy Equipment OperatorPlum Thicket Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety conscience Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing team in Harper, Kansas.PAY: $22 - $24 per hour. Every hour after 40 is paid overtime. Monthly safety bonus rewarded for safe operating.SCHEDULE: Start time 7 am. Stop time around 4 pm.WHY YOU NEED TO JOIN US:CULTURE: It's a great place to work! We keep our promises to our customers and our employees.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Spreading and compacting trash using a compactorSpreading daily cover using a dozerExcavating soil using an excavatorMaintaining haul roads using a graderHauling soil with an articulated dump truckWork in a fast paced, team environmentFollow safe operating practicesLearn and use interpersonal skills relating to good customer serviceWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 60 pounds.The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration.
