We proudly host the only level 4 Epilepsy center in the area, a stroke center recognized with Comprehensive Stroke Center designation by The Joint Commission and the American Stroke Association, a Parkinson's Foundation Center of Excellence, the inaugural MDA Care Center established by the Muscular Dystrophy Association® (MDA) in the state, an ALS Association Certified Treatment Center of Excellence, and a recently updated Memory Disorders Clinic that supports our newly established multi-site South Carolina Alzheimer's clinical network.

About Our Cognitive Neurology Program:

The South Carolina Alzheimer's Network (SCAN) is a collaborative initiative within our organization that guarantees patients receive early and precise diagnoses, comprehensive care plans developed in partnership with primary care providers, access to new Alzheimer's disease medications, and opportunities to participate in research studies.

Essential Qualifications:

• Board certification or eligibility in Neurology

• Completion of a fellowship in Behavioral Neurology or Neuropsychiatry, or significant experience as a general neurologist with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders

• A commitment to collaboration, innovation, and teamwork

• Proficiency in cognitive disorders

• An academic focus and passion for teaching

Position Highlights:

• This role is entirely outpatient, focusing on cognitive and behavioral neurology, with inpatient coverage provided by Neurohospitalists

• Collaborative faculty team including Behavioral Neurologists, Geriatric Psychiatrists, Neuropsychologists, APPs, Dementia Care Navigators, Psychometrists, an Infusion Coordinator, nursing clinical support, and dedicated administrative assistance

• State-of-the-art facilities specifically designed for cognitive patients, featuring on-site infusion suites

• Strong interdisciplinary specialty support

• Engagement in teaching medical students and neurology residents

• Opportunity to participate in a state-supported Alzheimer's disease research center, with numerous collaborative possibilities across the university and mentorship from senior investigators and principal investigators

• Minimal on-call requirements, only 1-2 nights per month

• Eligibility for H1B and O1 Visas

• Support for special interests with designated research time
