UCSF School of Medicine and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals Division of Endocrinology, Department of Pediatrics Ladder RankThe Division of Endocrinology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), in partnership with UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals, invites applications for the Miller Endowed Chair in Pediatric Endocrinology at the Professor rank in the Ladder Rank faculty series.The Miller Endowed Chair provides an exceptional opportunity for an internationally recognized physician-scientist to join one of the nation's premier academic pediatric institutions. The successful candidate will have an established record of transformative scientific discovery and sustained extramural funding, with a research program that has significantly advanced the understanding and treatment of pediatric endocrine disease, immune-mediated endocrine disorders, or related fields.The successful candidate will be expected to provide visionary scientific leadership within the Division of Endocrinology and across the Department of Pediatrics while fostering interdisciplinary collaborations that bridge basic, translational, and clinical investigation. The candidate will lead an internationally recognized independent research program and contribute to the continued growth of UCSF's research enterprise through innovation, mentorship, and academic leadership.This faculty member will join a highly collaborative academic environment with extensive opportunities to partner with investigators throughout UCSF, the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals, and affiliated research institutes. The position includes opportunities to mentor physician-scientists, graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, residents, fellows, and junior faculty while advancing the Department's missions of research, education, clinical excellence, and service.The successful candidate may have clinical responsibilities at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco and/or UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland consistent with their clinical expertise.Minimum Qualifications:MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent)Eligible for or possess a California medical license at the time of hireBoard Certification in PediatricsBoard Certification in Pediatric EndocrinologyEstablished independent research program with a sustained record of peer-reviewed extramural fundingNational or international reputation for scientific excellence and scholarly achievementDemonstrated excellence in mentoring graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, fellows, residents, or junior facultyPreferred QualificationsSustained record of NIH R01, U-series, P-series, or equivalent peer-reviewed federal funding as Principal Investigator.Internationally recognized research program focused on the mechanisms, pathogenesis, or treatment of pediatric endocrine disorders, immune-mediated endocrine disease, autoimmunity, or closely related areas.Outstanding record of high-impact scientific publications that have significantly advanced the field.Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary, collaborative translational research programs spanning basic, translational, and clinical investigation.Experience serving in institutional leadership roles within an academic medical center.Demonstrated success directing or contributing to NIH-funded training programs, including T32, K-award, MSTP, or comparable physician-scientist training initiatives.Record of sustained mentorship of physician-scientists, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and early-career faculty with evidence of trainee success.National leadership through service on NIH study sections, scientific advisory boards, editorial boards, professional societies, or comparable scientific organizations.Record of invited presentations at national and international scientific meetings.Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive academic environment and advancing excellence through mentorship, collaboration, and service.The total compensation for this position ranges from $395,000-$397,500.Total compensation at the University of California, San Francisco includes your base salary, which is determined by your rank and step at appointment, and negotiated pay for Health Sciences Compensation Plan members.
