We build the systems, partnerships, and programs that power organized play and create meaningful on-ramps for new players everywhere.We’re looking for a **Senior Manager, Play Expansion & Acquisition** to help bring Magic play to new spaces, new audiences, and new markets around the world.## **What You’ll Do*** Partner with the Commercial organization to identify, evaluate, and scale play opportunities in expanded retail and experiential verticals.* Develop scalable program frameworks that enable Magic play in new environments while maintaining brand and player experience standards.* Own strategy and execution across Magic play for new-to-play acquisition initiatives, in established and new verticals, from concept through launch, measurement, and iteration.* Establish clear success metrics for acquisition and expansion programs and use data-driven insights to optimize performance.* Serve as the primary liaison between the central Play Team and internal international teams on play-related initiatives, ensuring alignment, clarity of ownership, and shared accountability.* Build feedback loops with regional teams to surface market insights and inform global play strategy.* Ensure all expansion efforts support long-term ecosystem health, balancing growth, retention, and community sustainability.* Influence cross-functional stakeholders across Commercial, Marketing, Organized Play, and Regional teams to drive coordinated execution.## **What You’ll Bring*** Minimum of 5 years experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.* Proven success launching or scaling programs in retail, experiential, or group-focused environments.* Experience crafting and executing acquisition strategies with measurable business impact.* Strong strategic thinking paired with operational excellence and follow-through.* Ability to influence without direct authority in a global, matrixed organization.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level storytelling.## **Nice to Have*** Experience working with international markets and regional teams.* Bilingual or multilingual capabilities, especially fluency in Japanese.* Familiarity with hobby retail, specialty retail, or entertainment verticals.* Experience in live events, organized play, or community ecosystem development.* Passion for Magic: The Gathering and tabletop gaming.**We are an Equal Opportunity Employer**Wizards of the Coast is committed to equality of opportunity in all aspects of employment.
