Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Active LPN, LVN, or RN license, valid in the state of Michigan
• Previous experience as a school nurse or in a pediatric nursing setting
• CPR and First Aid certification required
• Strong assessment and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and external healthcare providers
• Familiarity with managing chronic health conditions, medication administration, and emergency response in a school setting
• Comfort with documentation and record-keeping in compliance with privacy laws (FERPA, HIPAA)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care and first aid to students and staff during the school day
• Develop and manage individualized health care plans for students with acute or chronic conditions
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments with diligence and accuracy
• Conduct health screenings, maintain immunization records, and monitor communicable disease outbreaks
• Educate students, families, and staff on health promotion and disease prevention
• Serve as a resource and advocate for student health needs within the school community
• Respond promptly to health emergencies and participate in crisis management protocols
