# Medical AssistantRALEIGH, NC 27614## Medical Assistant - GI**Medical Assistant (MA) – Gastroenterology Raleigh, NC | In-Office****Support quality patient care—every day.** Raleigh Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to support our Gastroenterology practice. This role provides clinical support and coordinates patient care in a fast-paced specialty setting under the direction of physicians and advanced practice providers. The Medical Assistant plays a key role in delivering an exceptional patient experience through clinical support, patient education, care coordination, and effective communication with patients and healthcare teams.**Key Responsibilities*** Provides patient care and administers medications and treatments as directed* Rooms and prepares patients for examinations and procedures* Assists providers with examinations, diagnostic procedures, treatments, and minor procedures* Obtains and documents patient health histories, vital signs, and clinical information* Collects biological samples and performs basic lab-related tasks* Documents patient assessments and results in the electronic health record (EHR)* Triages non-emergent patient calls using established protocols* Coordinates procedures, referrals, and prior authorizations* Processes prescription refill requests following provider direction* Reinforces provider instructions and distributes patient education materials* Assists with preparation and coordination of GI procedures* Ensures compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and organizational policies* Collaborates with clinical and operational staff* Performs additional duties as assigned**Qualifications - Required*** High school diploma or equivalent* Minimum of one year of recent medical office experience utilizing an EHR system* Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures* Strong communication and organizational skills* Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment**Qualifications - Preferred*** Experience in gastroenterology or other specialty clinic settings**Physical Requirements*** Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and reaching* Ability to assist with repositioning, transferring, and ambulating patients safely* Fine motor skills and visual acuity required* Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds**Why Join Raleigh Medical Group?*** Meaningful work supporting patient care* Collaborative, team-oriented work environment* Opportunity to grow within a respected multi-specialty medical practice**We Offer Our Valued Employees*** Competitive pay* Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage* FSA and HSA options* Generous Paid Time Off (PTO)* 401(k) with employer match* Company-paid Life and Disability insurance**EEO Statement** Raleigh Medical Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
