If this sparks your interest, you're in the right place.DLR Group's Dallas office has an opening for a Project Accountant.Position SummaryAs a Project Accountant, you will be a key financial partner to project and business leaders, providing insight, guidance, and support throughout the lifecycle of our projects. You will help teams understand project financial performance, maintain accurate project data, support invoicing and revenue forecasting, and proactively identify opportunities to strengthen project profitability and financial outcomes.This role combines project accounting expertise with strong business acumen and relationship-building skills. You will collaborate across teams, sectors, and regions; help promote financial best practices; and serve as a resource to both project leaders and fellow Project Accountants. If you enjoy partnering with project teams, solving complex financial questions, and using data to help inform business decisions, this may be the opportunity for you.What You Will DoPartner with Project Leadership to analyze project financial performance, identify trends, and support project profitabilityCoordinate monthly project financial reviews, including billing progress, percentage complete, revenue projections, project budgets, and related financial considerationsSet up and maintain accurate project information in Deltek Vantagepoint, including contracts, compensation, fee distributions, and consultant informationReview project contracts and work plans to ensure financial information is accurately reflected in project systemsSupport timely and accurate client invoicing by reviewing timesheets, labor reports, reimbursable expenses, direct expenses, and other project financial informationMonitor accounts receivable aging, coordinate collection efforts with Project Leadership, research payment discrepancies, and communicate payment status as neededReview consultant invoices and subconsultant agreements, coordinate fee allocations, and support consultant payment inquiries and documentationPrepare, review, and respond to project financial reports, questions, fee adjustments, and other accounting-related requestsMentor and support Project Accountant team members and contribute to the onboarding and development of new team membersCollaborate with Financial Services, project teams, sectors, and regions to promote consistent financial practices and identify opportunities to improve processes and workflowsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent8+ years of experience in project accounting, billing, accounting, financial administration, or a related roleExperience supporting financial processes such as invoicing, accounts receivable, project setup, budgeting, forecasting, or financial reportingStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research financial questions and identify appropriate solutionsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracyEffective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with project leaders and internal teamsStrong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate financial and project informationProficiency with Microsoft ExcelMust be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorshipPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related fieldExperience in an architecture, engineering, design, or professional services firmExperience with Deltek Vantagepoint or a similar project-based financial management systemExperience mentoring, training, or supporting the development of other team membersVisa sponsorship is not offered for this position, including temporary visas such as E, F-1 (including OPT and CPT), TN, J, H-1B, or those who need employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.DLR Group is an integrated design firm delivering architecture, engineering, interiors, planning, and building optimization for new builds, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects.We are 100% employee-owned: every employee is literally invested in our clients' success.
