Giana Restaurant is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Prep Cook to join our culinary team. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in the kitchen, ensuring that all ingredients are prepared to the highest standards of quality and consistency. This position presents a valuable opportunity to be part of the launch of a new upscale American restaurant, contributing to the foundation of culinary excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation: Accurately measure and prepare ingredients according to established recipes and portion sizes.
• Knife Skills: Demonstrate exceptional knife skills in chopping, slicing, and dicing various ingredients.
• Ingredient Organization: Maintain a well-organized and clean workstation, with attention to ingredient freshness and labeling.
• Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and managing inventory levels, including restocking and rotating supplies.
• Quality Control: Ensure that all prepared ingredients meet the restaurant's high standards for freshness and quality.
• Adherence to Recipes: Follow detailed recipes and preparation procedures consistently.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the culinary team to prepare mise en place for service.
• Sanitation: Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation standards to maintain a clean and organized prep area.
• Efficiency: Work efficiently to meet the kitchen's needs during service.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure the smooth flow of food preparation.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a prep cook in a professional kitchen is preferred but not required.
• Passion for food and a willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high food quality standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is a plus.
