Accounts Payable Clerk

Sirius Staffing is hiring an Accounts Payable Clerk for an in‑person, full‑time position located in Springfield, MO. This role provides financial, administrative, and clerical support by processing and monitoring accounts payable to ensure all unit finances are accurate, timely, and handled in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal guidelines. Rate: $16-19/hr BOE Schedule: Mon to Friday/ 8hrs per day-40 per week/ Normal Business hours Essential Job Functions Maintain systematic, accurate, and timely processing of all accounts payable (including vendor invoicing, payments, pre‑payment requests, and vendor files). Identify, investigate, and resolve provider bill discrepancies. Maintain accurate W-9 information and ensure it is secured prior to issuing payments. Obtain required policy approvals on all vendor bills to ensure timely payment. Prepare and manage the weekly check run. Report any unresolved disputes involving physicians or vendors to management. Complete accurate month‑end, quarterly, and year‑end reporting requirements on time. Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial files. Perform clerical duties including answering phones, taking messages, filing, scanning, and photocopying. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Competencies Experience: Minimum of two years of on‑the‑job accounts payable experience required. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Software Skills: Knowledgeable in multiple programs, including Great Plains, Microsoft Suite, Outlook, and the Internet. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure (whole numbers, decimals, fractions, hours/minutes) and compute rates and percentages. Core Capabilities: Must demonstrate a high level of accuracy in data entry, look for ways to improve quality, monitor own work, follow instructions, and respond accurately to management direction. Work Style: Proven ability to work independently, prioritize activities, use time efficiently, stay focused under normal or heavy distractions, and work well under pressure or strict deadlines. Teamwork & Change: Ability to promote a positive, team‑oriented environment and manage change, delays, or unexpected events appropriately. Compliance: Compliance with all company policies and procedures in effect at hire or as updated. Language & Communication Skills Ability to write clearly and informatively for all audiences, editing work for proper spelling and grammar. Ability to respond professionally to inquiries or complaints from customers, physicians, regulatory agencies, and the business community. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one or in small groups. Physical Demands & Work Environment Office Environment: Ability to work at a desk/office furnishing up to 8+ hours a day and operate a computer up to 4 hours at a time. Mobility: Ability to move throughout the office and travel to different floors or locations. Lifting/Moving: Occasional lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs. and pushing/pulling up to 25 lbs. Posture: Occasional bending, squatting, or twisting. Schedule & Noise: Extended hours are occasionally required beyond the regular 8‑hour workday. Noise level is usually moderate.
