Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend (3 weekends out of 6-week schedule)
• Holidays: work into holiday rotation schedule
• Nursing ratios: 1:6-7 patients (mostly 1:7 for both day and night shifts)
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Dress code: Navy blue scrub top and bottom with navy scrub jacket (no hoodies)
• EMR system: Sunrise and Allscripts charting system
• General hospital orientation plus 2 full shifts on the unit
• Floating may occur to other MedSurg, MedSurg/Oncology units, or IMC (MedSurg overflow only)
• IV team handles all IV starts - RN's assess IV sites but do not start their own IVs
• Charge nurse takes full patient assignment with clinical assistant support
• Remote telemetry monitoring available as needed
• Handle drips including Heparin, rare Lasix, PCAs with MSO4, and occasional Ativan
• Experience with peritoneal dialysis highly preferred
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Must include copy of unexpired driver's license with submission
• 50-mile radius rule applies

Facility:

This healthcare facility features a 52-bed medical-surgical unit with all private rooms providing comprehensive post-operative and medical care. The facility maintains 24/7 hospitalist coverage, intensivist support, and resident physicians on-site. Additional services include round-the-clock IV and PICC teams, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy support with Pyxis medication dispensing. The unit specializes in orthopedic post-ops, basic neurosurgical procedures, general surgery patients, and various medical diagnoses including COPD, pneumonia, and infections, with hemodialysis services available on the floor.
