Service Technician

The Service Technician maintains and repairs material handling and overhead crane systems to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation. This role combines electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, scheduled preventative maintenance, and detailed inspections in accordance with OSHA and ANSI standards. The technician documents all work performed and occasionally travels to customer sites to support service and installation needs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair material handling equipment to restore proper function and minimize downtime.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance activities on material handling equipment and overhead crane systems.
• Evaluate equipment condition and make clear recommendations regarding repairs, replacements, or adjustments.
• Keep overhead crane systems operating by conducting inspections, diagnosing breakdowns, and performing corrective repairs.
• Respond promptly to repair calls and service requests, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and safely.
• Support installation and service activities by completing all required forms, reports, and inspection checklists accurately and on time.
• Inspect overhead industrial cranes and hoists to verify safety and compliance with OSHA and ANSI standards.
• Work safely on elevated work platforms such as scissor lifts, boom lifts, and ladders while performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Handle electrical tasks involving voltages up to 24v, 120v, 230v, and 480v as part of equipment troubleshooting and repair.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing material handling equipment.
• Ability to perform scheduled preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting with exposure to voltages up to 24v, 120v, 230v, and 480v.
• Mechanical aptitude for working with cranes, hoists, and related material handling components.
• Capability to inspect overhead industrial cranes and hoists for safety and compliance with OSHA and ANSI standards.
• Comfort working at heights using elevated work platforms, including scissor lifts, boom lifts, and ladders.
• Ability to complete detailed forms, service reports, and inspection checklists with accuracy.
• Ownership and use of professional tools, including sockets, ratchets, and end wrenches up to 1 1/4 inch.
• Willingness to travel for occasional out-of-town work, up to approximately 5% of the time.

Work Environment

The position requires the use of professional hand tools, including sockets, ratchets, and end wrenches up to 1 1/4 inch, and adherence to strict safety practices and regulatory standards. Occasional out-of-town assignments, up to about 5% of the time, may require overnight stays, with per diem and hotel accommodations provided. The environment is hands-on, technical, and safety-focused, with regular interaction with equipment, inspection documentation, and service reports.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $51000.00 - $71400.00/yr. Healthcare Vision Dental Per Diem
