Essential Responsibilities

Customer Success & Technical Leadership

· Lead a global team of Application Engineers supporting customer onboarding, solution enablement, software integration, design implementation, technical issue resolution, deployment, and production ramp.

· Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues and strategic customer engagements.

· Build trusted relationships with customer engineering, architecture, product, and executive stakeholders.

· Drive successful customer adoption of MIPS technologies and ensure achievement of customer objectives and milestones.

· Lead technical reviews, workshops, enablement activities, and executive customer engagements.

· Act as the Voice of the Customer by communicating requirements, technical challenges, and market feedback to Product Management and Engineering teams.

Business Impact & Customer Success

· Partner with Sales, Business Development, Product Management, and Customer Program Management to support strategic account growth and customer success objectives.

· Ensure successful post-design-win execution by providing technical leadership, customer enablement, and engineering engagement necessary to accelerate customer adoption and production deployment.

· Monitor customer health, adoption progress, technical readiness, and engagement effectiveness to identify risks and drive successful business outcomes.

· Lead mitigation of customer issues, adoption barriers, and technical risks.

· Contribute customer insights, market intelligence, and adoption trends to support business planning and product strategy.

Operational Excellence & Executive Reporting

· Define, track, and continuously improve key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Application Engineering organization.

· Own executive dashboards and scorecards covering customer health, support effectiveness, adoption progress, resource utilization, escalation trends, and organizational performance.

· Present regular business reviews to executive leadership, providing visibility into customer status, operational performance, business risks, staffing needs, and strategic opportunities.

· Lead resource planning, workforce forecasting, and capacity management to ensure effective support coverage across customers and strategic initiatives.

· Establish operating rhythms, objectives, and performance metrics that align Application Engineering execution with business priorities.

· Drive data-driven decision making through analysis of operational metrics, customer engagement trends, and organizational performance indicators.

· Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, scalability, and customer satisfaction.

Team Leadership

· Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain a high-performing global Application Engineering team.

· Establish clear performance expectations, career development plans, and growth opportunities.

· Foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, collaboration, and customer focus.

· Lead workforce planning, succession planning, organizational development, and talent management activities.

· Promote knowledge sharing and best practices that improve team effectiveness and customer outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Partner closely with Engineering, Product Management, Program Management, Business Operations, and commercial teams to ensure customer and business success.

· Align customer requirements with product capabilities, roadmap priorities, and business objectives.

· Support product launches, customer enablement initiatives, and technical readiness activities across the organization.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

· 10+ years of experience in semiconductor, embedded systems, AI, software, or related engineering disciplines.

· 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical or customer-facing engineering teams.

· Proven experience leading strategic customer engagements and driving successful technical outcomes.

· Strong technical background in semiconductor IP, SoCs, embedded processing, AI acceleration, software platforms, or related technologies.

· Demonstrated experience establishing KPIs, developing operational dashboards, and presenting executive-level business reviews.

· Experience with resource planning, capacity management, forecasting, and organizational performance management.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate technical and operational data into actionable business insights.

· Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

· Ability to influence across engineering, product, commercial, and executive organizations.

· Ability to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience supporting AI, edge computing, robotics, automotive, industrial, or intelligent embedded systems applications.

· Familiarity with RISC-V architectures, AI accelerators, CPUs, NPUs, DSPs, or related technologies.

· Experience with software development environments, compilers, SDKs, AI frameworks, or deployment toolchains.

· Experience supporting strategic customer accounts and globally distributed engineering teams.

· MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.

Expected Salary Range

$118,000.00 - $239,000.00
