Job Overview:

Perform preventative and repair maintenance work to ensure hotel is maintained according to established quality and sustainability standards while treating guests in a warm and friendly manner.

Essential Functions

• Conduct guest room inspections and identify maintenance and repair needs
• Install and repair drywall, wall coverings, and other interior surfaces
• Paint assigned areas and equipment as needed
• Install, repair, and replace basic electrical fixtures, including switches, outlets, and light bulbs
• Repair and maintain hotel furniture and fixtures
• Install, replace, and program televisions and related equipment
• Perform minor plumbing repairs and maintenance
• Service, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems and components
• Trace, diagnose, and repair water line issues
• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen and food service equipment
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and preventive maintenance activities
• Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations and codes
• Monitor guest satisfaction metrics and contribute to improving departmental and overall guest experience
• Follow established service recovery procedures to resolve guest concerns
• Adhere to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and compliance with OSHA and MSDS standards
• Respond promptly and effectively to guest service requests and maintenance issues
• Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections across the property
• Maintain pool, spa, and recreational facilities, if applicable
• Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors as needed
• Assist with renovation and property improvement projects
• Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory to ensure operational readiness
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred)
• 2+ years of maintenance or engineering experience, preferably in hospitality
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems
• Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
• Basic computer skills for work orders and reporting
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Stand, walk, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks
• Work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, confined spaces)
