Jamie Benway with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join a growing organization in Tualatin, Oregon. This role supports accurate financial reporting and operational insight by overseeing cost analysis, inventory accounting, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in standard costing and thrives in a hands-on environment where precision and collaboration are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end costing activities, ensuring job costs are reviewed, calculated, and finalized accurately for financial reporting.

• Perform detailed inventory reconciliations and investigate variances to maintain reliable stock valuation and accounting records.

• Reconcile cost-related data to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Analyze manufacturing and operational cost trends to support budgeting, forecasting, and business decision-making.

• Maintain and improve standard cost data, including updates related to materials, labor, and overhead assumptions.

• Partner with finance and operations teams to strengthen cost controls and enhance the accuracy of reporting processes.

• Prepare supporting schedules, reports, and documentation for audits, close cycles, and management review.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in cost accounting, including responsibility for standard costing practices.
• Strong background in month-end close, job costing, and inventory accounting.
• Ability to reconcile financial data accurately and tie reporting to the general ledger.
• Advanced analytical skills with strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel in an accounting environment.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with operational and finance teams.
