Mission Systems Engineering is a leader in the mechanical and electrical hardware design, development, and production of DoD and Government Communications Systems. The department supports customers for Land, Sea, and Airborne Programs for our US military and various international customers, keeping the world safe from foreign threats. The department is seeking motivated and driven mechanical engineers with technical expertise and experience in hardware design, analysis, integration and production support. As a senior mechanical engineer, you will be a member of a multi-disciplinary Integrated Program Team (IPT) consisting of System, Hardware and Software Engineers. Your work can support development of next generation systems, design enhancements, upgrades for existing products, and transition to production efforts. Product areas can include circuit card assemblies, electronics assemblies, and reflector-type antennas for communications systems.What You Will DoYou will perform mechanical design, development, analysis and documentation of components and assemblies in accordance with system requirementsYou will provide support to production and suppliers during product integrationInterface with the broader organization to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges. This can include engineering managers, engineers, designers, and structural/thermal analysts, other disciplines, program management, suppliers, and external customersYou will work with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goalsYou will support and participate in reviews and conduct trade studies to make sound technical decisionsYou will apply knowledge and experience in technical problem solving and hardware development in a fast paced, team environmentYou will mentor and guide less experienced engineersQualifications You Must HaveExperience designing and developing hardware, ranging from concept definition through detailed design and transition to production or product support.Demonstrated experience in mechanical design, product development, material selection, and manufacturing processesExperience with CAD design tools and associated product data management toolsExperience solving technically challenging problems within aggressive timelinesTypically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience oran Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experienceThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
