Overview

Ameritube is seeking a high-caliber Continuous Casting Manager to lead our vertically integrated copper casting operations. Following our 2024 facility expansion, we are looking for a technical leader with a deep background in non-ferrous metallurgy—specifically those with experience in high-volume, precision environments (e.g., Wieland, Concast, Revere).

You will be the primary authority on our continuous casting line, responsible for melt chemistry, grain structure integrity, and the scaling of our casting department.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Authority: Oversee daily operations of the continuous casting furnace, ensuring optimal thermal profiles and withdrawal speeds for high-quality tube production.
• Metallurgical Integrity: Utilize OES Spectrometry and microscopic analysis to verify chemical composition and grain structure, ensuring all melts meet stringent ASTM and internal specifications.
• Strategic Charge Management: Mastermind furnace loading and scrap/cathode selection to optimize melt efficiency and minimize impurities.
• Operational Leadership: Manage and mentor a specialized team, fostering a culture of safety, precision, and continuous improvement (LEAN/Six Sigma).
• Technical Troubleshooting: Act as the first line of defense for process deviations, minimizing downtime through rapid root-cause analysis of casting defects.
• Collaboration: Work directly with Senior Management to develop new alloy specifications and refine casting workflows for our expanding production capabilities.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Direct Industry Experience: Minimum 5–7 years in Continuous Casting of copper or brass alloys. Experience with reputable industry leaders is highly preferred.
• Metallurgical Expertise: Proven proficiency in Optical Emission Spectrometry (OES) and microscopic grain analysis.
• Technical Literacy: Ability to interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and metallurgical lab reports.
• Safety & Equipment: Certified or highly experienced in heavy industrial safety, including overhead crane and forklift operations within a melt-shop environment.
• Leadership: Demonstrated success in managing shift-based teams and improving department throughput.
