The Medical Laboratory Technician demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to patients including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. What you will do in this role Performs assigned diagnostic test procedures accurately in accordance with the written policies and procedures. Adheres to quality control protocols. Performs and documents prescribed maintenance procedures. Reports work accurately, legibly and in accordance with the criteria for abnormal and critical values. Works efficiently and responds to stats and other priority tests to provide optimum patient care. Interacts professionally with lab personnel and with other hospital departments. Assists with evaluation of equipment and procedures, orient new employees and work with students. May be assigned to other tasks and/or required to vary schedule to meet the needs of the Laboratory and the patients. Will comply with universal precautions and adhere to safety standards and practices. Will use the Laboratory Computer System and will be assigned to the security level appropriate to the job. Will pass the hospital CPR course and provide assistance during codes as necessary. What qualifications you will need Associate Degree Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory preferred.
