Role Description The Assistant Manager role at Old Navy is a full-time, on‑site position based in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. This role supports the Store Manager in leading daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, sales floor supervision, and ensuring excellent customer service. The Assistant Manager helps drive sales by coaching store associates, setting clear performance expectations, and modeling engaging, customer‑focused behavior. Responsibilities include managing visual merchandising and store presentation, monitoring inventory and stock replenishment, and maintaining compliance with company policies and safety standards. The Assistant Manager also assists with scheduling, training and onboarding team members, supporting employee engagement, and contributing to a positive, inclusive workplace culture. Qualifications Retail leadership skills, including experience supervising teams, coaching performance, and supporting store operations. Customer service and sales skills, with the ability to create an engaging in-store experience and drive revenue through service and product knowledge. Organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment. Communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse team members and interact effectively with customers and partners. Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills to address operational issues, resolve customer concerns, and support business goals. Basic proficiency with point‑of‑sale systems and retail technology; comfort with learning new tools and processes. Previous retail or customer‑facing experience preferred; prior supervisory or key holder experience is a plus.
