Food Service Aide Position

This Position is for the 2026/2027 School year Monday - Friday 4 hours per day with 30 minute lunch, Hours 9:30 am to 2:00 pm

Job Responsibilities:

• Assists with food preparation for the daily meal offerings and/or a la carte offerings utilizing basic food preparation equipment.
• Follows sanitation and safety requirements in the preparation and serving of food items.
• Assembles and packages food for delivery to other schools.
• Records food usage and production for food items prepared; assists with monitoring food and non-food inventories.
• Assists setting up the cafeteria for the food service program. This includes but is not limited to the cafeteria tables, milk cooler, tray/silverware cart and dish return area.
• Assists setting up serving line in accordance with meal service guidelines and helps serve food.
• Assists in cleanup of equipment, serving area, cafeteria, and dish room during and after meal service.
• Assist in receiving, stocking and storage of food and supplies.
• Follows appropriate dress and hygiene practices.
• Attends staff meetings, job-related training classes and workshops as required or requested.
• Is available for special event assignment as needed.
• Other duties as assigned to help provide for an efficient and effective food service operation.
• Ensures all dishes are properly sanitized.

Education/Certification Requirement:

High School Diploma or equivalent Obtain Level 1 Certification from School Nutrition Association (SNA) within 3 years of hire

Experience:

Food service - including food safety, sanitation practices and dish washing experience preferred
