Our Aerospace Systems Group provides innovative technical solutions to support aerospace programs for the Department of Defense (DoD) and their agencies. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead development of deployment systems for CubeSats and other small size spacecraft.Responsibilities:Design and develop deployment systems and associated mechanisms through test and deliveryTranslate system level requirements into designsAuthor drawings, assembly documentation, and test plansCollaborate with the Program Manager to define project objectives, timelines, and deliverablesCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize system performance and reliabilityWork in a team environment involving experts in diverse disciplines (e.g. aero-thermal and thermo- structural analyses, RF and IR signature effects of materials and configurations, etc.)Requirements:Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering5 or more years of experience designing mechanisms and structures encountering challenging vibration, shock, and temperature environmentsExperience with the various elements of mechanical design and drafting, including selection of structural materials, adhesive and fastener selection; AMSE y14.5 and other relevant ASME drafting standards; familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100/MIL Specifications as they apply to aerospace structuresExperience using parametric CAD software to create models of assemblies, parts and drawings.Experience with SolidWorks and / or Creo skills are preferred, with the ability to quickly achieve proficiency in both CAD packagesWe offer an exceptional employee benefits package!Competitive industry pay100% employer-paid medical insurance premiumHSA with employer contributionsDental and vision coverage optionsPaid holidaysPaid vacation and sick leaveCompany funded 401(k) and profit sharing plansEmployee stock ownership plan (ESOP)Life and disability insurancePaid parental leaveDiscretionary bonus eligibilityThe annual pay range for the Mechanical Engineer position is $110,000 to $165,000.The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, at a full time level of effort, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives.
