Unit Information The Med-Surg unit consists of the following: Number of Beds: 24 Staff: 7 members including nurses and patient care technicians Patient Ratios: 6:1 Typical Team Composition: Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 4 Nurses (RNs or LPNs), 2 Patient Care Technicians, 1 Unit Clerk Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 4 Nurses (RNs or LPNs), 2 Patient Care Technicians Equipment & EMR: Includes BLS, NIHSS, Meditech EMR, Alaris IV pumps, various pumps and monitoring devices. Requirements Successful candidates will have: Must-Have Qualifications: Prior inpatient acute care experience Knowledge of basic dysrhythmias Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a trauma center Responsibilities The role includes performing various procedures such as: PIVs insertion and management Central line management Foley catheter management NG tube insertion and management Drain management and removal Wound care and ostomy management Continuous bladder irrigation Chest tube management EKG monitoring Dress Code The dress code includes: Scrub Color: Royal blue Black pants are permissible.
