Job Description Location: Schiller Park, IL The Distribution Center (DC) Team Lead ensures operations/processes are performed accurately and efficiently. In the absence of the DC Supervisor, the Team Lead acts with supervisory authority and fosters a teamwork environment to support financial and operational goals. Responsibilities Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Checks with operations management daily to determine shift priorities/tasks. Assigns work and work zones to pickers, loaders, and forklift operators, and monitors actions throughout the schedule. Maintains awareness of schedule targets (work content and drop dead times) and progress; adjusts staffing as needed to meet objectives. Serves as primary trainer for full-time and temporary employees, mentoring and coaching to achieve and maintain departmental performance standards and adherence to policies and procedures. Performs as a working lead; completes all assigned tasks and meets minimum performance standards. Provides timely and effective communication to management for any performance or operational issues. Conducts safety and equipment training and inspections; communicates findings to management. Arrives on time for work, meetings, and appointments. Meets agreed-upon goals and objectives effectively and promptly. Demonstrates the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills. All other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Ability to obtain forklift and motorized jack pallet certification within one month of hire; certified forklift operator preferred. Demonstrated computer skills. Demonstrated effective communication skills. Equipment & Working Conditions Equipment includes office equipment, RF handheld devices, pallet jacks, forklifts, cherry picker, reach truck, voice pick system, and time clock. Warehouse environment with possible loud noise, temperature and weather extremes. Occasional overtime may be required. Physical Requirements Manual dexterity, visual acuity, reaching, bending, standing, sitting, and frequent lifting and moving up to 50 pounds. Salary & Benefits Salary range: $19.00–$22.00 per hour.
