Pet Waste Removal Technician - Full Time

Job Description

Job Description

Looking for a job where you can work independently, stay active, and spend your day outdoors instead of sitting behind a desk?

Super Scoopers is looking for dependable, hardworking pet waste removal technician to provide residential and commercial pet waste removal service throughout the DFW area.

This is a full-time, year-round position with a company-provided take-home truck, paid gas and tolls, benefits, paid time off, paid holidays, and a 401(k).

What the Job Is Really Like

We believe in being upfront about the job so you know what to expect before applying.

This is an active, outdoor position and not primarily a driving job. While you’ll drive a company truck between customers, much of your day will be spent walking and working outdoors.

During a typical workday, you’ll:

• Start at 7:00am Monday-Friday and end when all the jobs are completed (typically by 5:00pm but could go later). We are typically off on the weekends, but we may work on a weekend if we fall behind. This typically is due to weather related instances and has historically been very rare.
• Drive a company truck from customer to customer
• Get in and out of the truck frequently throughout the day
• Walk approximately 5–8 miles per day
• Bend, squat, walk, and move around residential yards
• Remove and properly dispose of pet waste
• Work outdoors in Texas heat, cold, and changing weather conditions
• Work independently for most of the day
• Maintain a steady and efficient pace while completing your route
• Interact professionally with customers and their dogs

If you enjoy staying active, working independently, and seeing the results of your work at the end of each day, this can be a great fit.

Compensation

You’ll receive paid hourly training at $16/hour while learning our procedures, safety standards, equipment, and route system. Training typically lasts between 2-3 weeks.

After successfully completing training, technicians transition to our commission-based compensation system .

Most fully trained technicians typically earn $19–$21+ per hour, plus tips.

Benefits

• Company-provided take-home truck
• Company-paid gas
• Company-paid tolls
• Company phone
• Customer tips
• Health, dental, and vision benefits
• Paid time off
• Paid holidays
• 401(k)

Because we provide the truck, fuel, tolls, and maintenance, you won’t be putting work-related miles on your personal vehicle or paying those expenses out of pocket.

Who Does Well Here?

Our most successful technicians are people who:

• Are dependable and punctual and can be counted on to show up ready to work
• Enjoy working independently without constant supervision
• Are comfortable working outdoors and staying physically active throughout the day
• Can maintain a steady and productive work pace
• Take pride in doing the job correctly and thoroughly
• Are comfortable around dogs of different sizes and breeds
• Can follow routes, procedures, and safety requirements
• Communicate professionally with customers and management
• Want a stable, year-round job rather than seasonal work

This Job May Not Be the Right Fit If...

We understand that every job isn’t right for everyone. This position may not be the best fit if you:

• Don’t enjoy physical or outdoor work
• Aren’t comfortable working in Texas summer temperatures
• Prefer working indoors for most of the day
• Don’t enjoy working independently
• Aren’t comfortable around dogs
• Have difficulty maintaining a consistent work pace throughout the day
• Are looking primarily for a driving position

We want to be upfront about these expectations so you can decide whether this position is a good match for you. Before applying, please make sure you’re comfortable with the responsibilities and working conditions described above. If they’re not what you’re looking for in your next job, we completely understand and encourage you to consider an opportunity that’s a better fit.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Reliable transportation to our office during the training period
• You will be taking the truck home after training. Please check with your community to make sure this will be allowed.
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position
• Comfortable working around dogs of different sizes and breeds
• Comfortable using a smartphone and route-management applications
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
