North Homes Children & Family Services is seeking an organized, relationship-focused Onboarding & Training Specialist to support the employee experience from pre-hire through ongoing development. This role coordinates recruitment logistics, new hire onboarding, employee orientation, training compliance, license/certification tracking, and employee development support.
This position plays an important role in creating a welcoming and effective onboarding experience while helping ensure employees stay current with required training, credentials, and development expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate recruitment logistics, interview scheduling, candidate communication, and pre-employment steps
- Manage new hire onboarding from offer acceptance through start date
- Plan and facilitate employee orientation
- Track required training completion and follow up on compliance needs
- Maintain employee training, onboarding, and compliance records
- Track licenses, certifications, and renewal deadlines
- Support employee development and internal training initiatives
- Partner with supervisors and leaders to support workforce readiness and employee success
Required:
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business, Education, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered
- Two years of experience in HR, onboarding, training coordination, recruiting support, or administrative support
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn HR systems
Preferred:
- Experience in human services, healthcare, nonprofit, behavioral health, or child and family services
- Experience with training compliance, credential tracking, HRIS, ATS, or LMS platforms
- HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR
