Required Skills Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), preferred 5 or more years’ experience in the railroad industry preferred Track maintenance experience Heavy machine/equipment operating experience Welding experience preferred Education And Experience High School diploma/GED 18 years of age or older Valid Driver's License Physical Requirements Walk long distance over uneven terrain, work around moving equipment, climb, ascend and descend locomotives Employees must be able to meet and comply with the manufacturer’s weight limitation safety rating and recommendations for any equipment associated with performing their duties, including the safety rating for ladders (both portable and affixed) and fall arrest equipment Heavy work, lifting up to 70 pounds occasionally and up to 100 pounds on a rare basis Reach, bend, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, stand, balance and lift in the course of duties Talk/hear (communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, exchange information) See (detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, assess) Must possess at least 20/40 in each eye with or without corrective lenses. Must be able to recognize and distinguish colors displayed by signals, signs, etc. Has ability to distinguish with no more than four (4) errors in a sixteen (16) plate isochromatic test. Must possess an average hearing threshold (in the better ear) of 40db at 500HZ 1000HZ and 2000HZ, aided or unaided Employment Conditions Work safely, follow standard procedures, be alert and take necessary precautions to prevent on the job accidents and injuries Wear required protective equipment such as hard hat, hearing protection, safety-toe boots, or safety glasses Work hours may include a nonstandard workweek Complete annual training and pass safety and track worker rules examinations Federal regulations require random testing for drugs and/or alcohol Must pass and maintain all required assessments, certifications and licenses Must pass a background screening Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship. #J-18808-Ljbffr Patriot Rail
