With proven experience in virtually all workable alloys, Spincraft components and assemblies can be found in today's most advanced space launch vehicles, commercial and military aircraft, nuclear submarines, critical defense systems, land-based gas turbines and more.What You'll Do Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for planning and organizing the hour-by-hour activities for 2nd Shift manufacturing associates to meet the quality, delivery and cost expectations of our customers. Assures all associates work safely and any hazards are resolved quickly. Executes production plans and monitors job run times. Ensures active communication with supporting departments and 1st Shift staff.Schedule: 2:30PM-10:30PM Daily Responsibilities:Follow through of Production plan hour by hour, daily activities for manufacturing associates; utilizes the strengths of the Lead personnel to help accomplish goals and workflowProvides technical support to the production floor by resolving issues as they ariseEnsures compliance with daily department schedules to meet shipments on a consistent basisMonitors, identifies and documents run times and process improvements of shop and productionMonitors workflow, oversees and directs production, and audits Job Paperwork, Routings, Log sheets, Process Control Sheets (PCS), Work Instructions (WI) for conformity and accuracyDocuments workflow, achievements, and notes for 1st shift hand-offCommunicates and coordinates with Engineering, Quality and other support areas as production issues ariseReviews all jobs prior to submittal for final inspection ensuring parts are made to print, parts are properly claimed and part counts are correctEnsures operators perform set-ups as required to meet production scheduleFollows safety policies and procedures and ensures subordinates do the sameSupports all manufacturing functions including troubleshooting and problem solving in all areas of manufacturingProvides recommendations and periodic updates as needed to management regarding the status of productionUtilize reporting and analytics to make data-driven decisions to meet production needsAttending trainings, meetings, and participate in continuous improvement programsTeam Management:Hold Shop Team accountable to goals and objectives set by the Company and Operations ManagerParticipate in union activities such a contract negotiation, grievances, etc.Train and mentor new team members and be an ambassador of our cultureDelegate job assignments and review workload as necessaryMaintain employee schedules such as approving time-off & staff coverageCollaborate with Human Resources for employee performance discussions, recruitment needs, hiring, and terminationsWork to resolve interpersonal issues and conflicts as they ariseAdvocate a safe and professional work environmentWhat You'll BringHigh School diploma or GED is required5+ years' experience working in a low mix/low volume metal fabrication manufacturing environment is required3+ years' experience leading/supervising small groups (Team Leader, Group Leader, Supervisor) is requiredExtensive technical knowledge of how machines (metal forming, machining, welding, general assembly stations) operate is preferredExposure to advanced safety concepts or Lean Management experience is preferredExperience in a union manufacturing environment preferred but not requiredReliable transportationStrong interpersonal and problem-solving skillsDemonstrates high level of Emotional Intelligence when dealing with all levels of the company, clients, and vendorsExceptional written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn other softwareProficient knowledge EPR systems, Epicor preferredAbility to build and maintain strong working relationshipsAbility to effectively manage time, multi-task, and pay close attention to detailsSelf-motivated professional with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamRegularly required to move, sit, and bend for various hours throughout the dayEqual Opportunity Employer.
