Custodian Lead

*This is an internal opportunity. Only current Boulder County Public Works employees are eligible to apply.* Boulder County Public Works Department is seeking to hire two Custodian Leads. Custodian Lead is a journey level classification. Working in a diverse and inclusive environment the Custodian Lead performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties in the routine maintenance of County buildings, assists the Site Leader by assigning and directing the work of custodians and provides occasional coverage for the Site Leader during absences. This is a full-time, benefited position that will work Monday through Thursday 4:30pm to 1:30am, Friday 4:30pm to 10:30pm. This position will work at various locations though out Boulder County. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt. Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work. Hiring Salary Range: $52,008.00 - $57,150.00 annually Tentative Hiring Timeline: First Round Interviews: September 24th Reference Check: September 28th Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors. Washes windows, screens, sills, woodwork, doors, desks, walls and ceilings. Cleans and disinfects restrooms. Dusts, disinfects and vacuums offices and meeting rooms. Locks and unlocks doors, secures work areas and buildings. Collects and disposes of trash, recycle and compostable materials. Shampoos and extracts carpets. Assigns and directs cleaning staff during Site Leader absences. Assists the Site Leader with training on cleaning technics and equipment use. Identifies and assists staff on cleaning issues. Assists the Site Leader on assigning staff on the following duties: cleaning of bathrooms, windows, vacuuming, carpet cleaning and floor work. Performs related work as required or directed by supervisor. Site and work assignments are based on need and can change at any time. May be re-assigned during emergency situations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of At least three years of experience in commercial custodial services Additional related education may count towards required experience.

DRIVER'S LICENSE & RELIABLE VEHICLE:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Thorough knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, equipment, chemicals and supplies. Willingness to take on advanced assignments in areas of site leader coverage, training and leadership. Displays good judgement and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, management and County building users.
