Financial Controller

Controller PositionMust haves:10+ years of accounting experience, 5+ years in an architecture/engineering/planning field or consulting or government contracting environment4+ years managing staff.Experience supporting finance and contracts team in accounting for projects in accordance with FAR and DCAA guidelines.Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).1+ years experience in a Controller role.Has worked in a company of 300+ employees, $40m+ gross revenue, 500+ monthly invoices in recent position as Contoller.Held a recent position in the A+E (AEP) field.Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, CPA preferred.Proficiency in Deltek Vision or VantagePoint preferred.Job Summary:This Controller position earns a competitive salary and great benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, a health savings account (HSA), and a flexible spending account (FSA).We practice what we preach and ensure that our employees also have access to transportation by providing them with financial incentives to bike, walk, or use transit for a better quality of life.This full-time position typically works a flexible schedule of 40 hours a week.We also provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home 2-3 days per week.The Silver Spring office of Toole Design is our corporate headquarters. The office is easily accessed on foot, by bicycle, and via transit.A Day in the Life of a Controller:As the Controller, reporting to the CFO, you'll be the process owner for all accounting functions - ensuring the company's financial health and ability to grow into the future.You'll be responsible for the monthly, quarterly and year-end close and consolidation processes.You'll manage payroll, billing, and AP teams.
