Can you turn a set of drawings into a reliable budget?
If that question energizes you, step into a high‑impact role with a growing national commercial GC. Based in Northbrook, IL , you’ll anchor preconstruction efforts across hospitality, retail, office, industrial, multifamily, and mixed‑use programs.
Compensation: Up to $180,000 DOE
Your missionOwn the numbers from first concept through bid. Translate design information, logistics, and schedule drivers into accurate takeoffs and budgets; lead subcontractor pricing strategy; and champion value solutions that safeguard scope and quality.
How you’ll contribute- Produce conceptual and detailed estimates, plus meticulous quantity takeoffs
- Develop and present budgets, GMPs, and well‑scoped bid packages
- Interrogate plans/specs; factor in site logistics and schedule to refine costs
- Coordinate solicitation, leveling, and analysis of trade partner and vendor pricing
- Advance value engineering options and cost‑efficiency measures
- Participate in client, architect, and internal planning sessions
- Build lasting subcontractor relationships and curate historical pricing libraries
- Minimum 5 years estimating experience in commercial construction environments
- Exposure to civil and structural scopes preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
- Fluency with Microsoft Office and estimating software
- Clear communicator with superb organization and analytical rigor
