[Urgently Hiring] Afterschool Program Leader

Job Title: Program Leader (Part Time) Location: Loma Portal Elementary School – San Diego, CA 92106 Position Type: Part Time Salary: $20.00 – $20.00 per hour Make a Difference Today! Responsibilities Greet and welcome kids to the program at the end of their school day. Organize and lead activities, including homework help, recreation games, arts and crafts, and educational projects. Participate in indoor and outdoor enrichment activities. Create and conduct unique clubs for students (e.g., career readiness, cooking, anime, dance). Maintain a secure environment by following safety protocols, monitoring student behavior, and managing group dynamics. Oversee the safety and well‑being of students during after‑school activities. Encourage participation and enthusiasm while adapting activities to meet students’ diverse needs and interests. Qualifications At least one year of experience in after‑school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities. Strong communication skills, able to talk comfortably to both kids and parents. College transcripts showing 48+ college credit units completed OR have taken and passed an academic proficiency exam. Obtain a TB test (provide proof of negative result) and pass a Live Scan background check. English–Spanish bilingual speaker is a plus. Provide documentation of full Covid‑19 vaccination if required by the school. Schedule Year‑round, Monday to Friday (required). Afternoon shift: 2 p.m.–6 p.m. (with at least one day of the week from 12 p.m.–6 p.m. depending on the school). Location & Commute Relocate or commute to the school site; reliable commute prior to the start of work is required.
