Make a meaningful impact supporting students with significant needs in a focused classroom environment. This contracted role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about helping school-aged children thrive and adapt in a supportive setting.

Key Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years of college credits from an accredited institution, OR
• An associate degree or higher, OR
• Passing score on an approved academic assessment (ParaPro, ParaPathways, The Master Teacher), or meet competencies on the MDE approved grid
• Willingness to obtain a PCA certificate (a free process—takes less than an hour)
• At least one year of experience working with school-aged children in a professional capacity
• Preferred background includes two or more years as a paraprofessional in a school setting
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment for students with high needs

Responsibilities:

• Support students individually or in small groups within a high needs-focused classroom
• Collaborate closely with teachers and specialists to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Assist with classroom management, academic activities, and behavioral interventions
• Help facilitate communication between students, families, and school staff
• Adapt instructions and materials to meet the unique needs of each learner
• Maintain a safe and nurturing environment where every child can succeed
