Fraud InvestigatorLocation: Columbus, OH 43240 (Fully Onsite)This class will be 100% in office. There is a possibility to move to hybrid based on quality and production levels after several months.Start date: 09/14/2026Training: Approximately 4 weeksTraining Hours: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM ETRegular Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week; flexibility within 7:00 AM–6:00 PM after training.Training Attendance: Zero absences during the training periodWork Schedule: Candidates must be available to work a full 40-hour week during the required standard hours.Hybrid: There is a possibility of moving to a hybrid schedule after several months based on quality and production levels; this is not guaranteed.Important RequirementsCandidates must have full knowledge of the experience listed on their resume and be able to discuss it during the interview.Candidates must be comfortable working onsite and with the possibility of hybrid work later in the contract.Candidates must be available for the full required 40-hour workweek.Interview reschedule requests are unlikely.Candidates should provide their interview availability at the top of the resume.Offers require electronic fingerprint submissions scheduled within 48 hours.Clear and timely communication is required throughout the interview and onboarding process.Position SummaryExternal Fraud Investigators may concentrate on one specific or multiple fraud typologies, including external fraud and technology-related fraud, depending on business needs within Fraud Investigations. External Fraud Investigators investigate multiple fraud typologies in accordance with policies and procedures, perform thorough account transaction analysis to identify suspicious or fraudulent activity, and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).Key ResponsibilitiesInvestigate multiple fraud typologies in accordance with established policies and procedures.Perform detailed account transaction analysis to identify suspicious or fraudulent activity.Review consumer and commercial DDAs, loans, lines of credit, debit and credit cards, technology products, and investment products.Maintain thorough and accurate case notes documenting all required actions in chronological order through a case management system.Report investigative findings to the appropriate designee within Fraud Investigations with a recommendation for SAR or no SAR determination.Prepare complete and accurate SARs for filing.Participate in required continuing education and training.Follow applicable Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security, and suspicious activity reporting requirements.Follow internal suspicious activity referral requirements and processes.Comply with applicable policies and procedures.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree or proven experience in fraud investigation and SARs.Strong analytical skills.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and data security standards.Strong time management skills.Ability to meet tight deadlines.Positive attitude with a results-oriented approach.Ability to adapt and work effectively through change.Preferred Skills/ExperienceSAR writing and quality assurance experience.Prior investigation experience.Prior financial or banking sector experience.Prior accounting or auditing experience.Thorough knowledge of operations, products/services, systems, and risks/controls applicable to the assigned area.Understanding of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends.Well-developed analytical skills.Ability to research and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.Strong PC skills, particularly word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Additional Candidate Consideration: Banking experience is preferred but not required.
