Position Summary
Caliber Resource Partners, LLC, a non-operated oil and gas company focused on acquiring and managing high-quality working interest assets, is seeking a Land Technician / Land Analyst to support its land, title, ownership, and asset-management functions across a diversified oil and gas portfolio.
This position will provide technical and analytical support to Caliber’s land team, with responsibilities including land records maintenance, ownership and lease data review, well proposal and election tracking, division order support, title curative coordination, operator correspondence, and acquisition and divestiture support. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, comfortable working with land and title documents, and capable of managing multiple time-sensitive projects in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
This is a full-time, on-site opportunity located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position is not available as a hybrid or fully remote role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and administrative support to the land team across non-operated oil and gas assets.
- Prepare, organize, maintain, and process land-related documents, including leases, assignments, deeds, JOAs, letter agreements, division orders, title opinions, curative documents, elections, and related correspondence.
- Track and maintain status of well proposals, AFEs, elections, JOAs, DPUs, DSUs, pooling matters, and related amendments or counterparts.
- Create, maintain, and update lease, well, contract, ownership, and partner information in internal land records and applicable land/accounting systems.
- Review, analyze, and interpret routine title opinions, ownership reports, division orders, assignments, curative documents, and other land records.
- Assist with ownership analysis, including working interest, net revenue interest, royalty, burden, and leasehold calculations.
- Support division order review and assist in reconciling discrepancies between operator records and internal ownership records.
- Monitor lease expirations, special obligations, payments, proposals, elections, and other critical deadlines.
- Coordinate with operators, partners, attorneys, brokers, accounting personnel, and other third parties to resolve land, title, ownership, and payment issues.
- Assist with title curative by identifying defects, tracking outstanding curative items, and coordinating resolution with internal and external parties.
- Review and process invoices, lease payments, partner billings, and other land-related payment items, as applicable.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical land files, including documentation of key decisions, correspondence, and ownership support.
- Prepare reports, summaries, spreadsheets, and internal updates for management and the land team.
- Support acquisition and divestiture activity, including data room review, title and leasehold diligence, defect tracking, schedule preparation, and post-closing integration.
- Perform quality-control reviews of land, ownership, lease, and well data to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Assist with special projects related to asset management, ownership integrity, operator relations, and strategic transactions.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years of relevant oil and gas land administration, land technician, lease analyst, land analyst, division order, title, or related experience.
- Working knowledge of oil and gas land terminology, lease provisions, title documents, legal descriptions, ownership concepts, and well/proposal workflows.
- Ability to read, organize, and interpret leases, assignments, deeds, JOAs, title opinions, ownership reports, division orders, curative documents, and related land records.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large amounts of sensitive information accurately.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal team members, operators, attorneys, brokers, accounting personnel, and other external parties.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and identify issues requiring escalation.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to take ownership of projects.
- Must be able to work full-time on site in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Petroleum Land Management, Business, or a related field.
- Experience using land or accounting systems such as Quorum, P2, Enertia, W Energy, WolfePak, PakEnergy, GIS, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with working interest and net revenue interest calculations.
- Experience reviewing title opinions, DOIs, and assisting with ownership deck maintenance.
- Experience with division orders, revenue decks, suspense issues, and operator ownership discrepancies.
- Experience tracking well proposals, AFEs, elections, JOAs, pooling matters, DPUs, DSUs, and lease obligations.
- Experience supporting acquisitions, divestitures, due diligence, data room review, and post-closing ownership integration.
- Experience utilizing GIS software.
- Familiarity with non-operated oil and gas assets and owner-focused asset management.
- Multi-basin experience, including exposure to Permian, Mid-Continent, Appalachia, Haynesville, DJ Basin, or other major U.S. basins.
- Familiarity with revenue accounting workflows, joint-interest billing, and operator statement review.
- Ability to prepare clear, concise emails to third parties, internal summaries, reports, and issue trackers.
