About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS required, ACLS required Must-Have: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred Description: The competent nurse practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to plan for long-range goals. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Meets the expectations of applicable competencies. Consistent with the scope and standards of practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Using appropriate protocols, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and resources. Weekend requirement: Yes, every third or fourth weekend. On-call requirement: Yes, as selected in collaboration with other staff. Nurse/patient ratio: One patient to four staff members (two nurses and two techs). Dress code: Galaxy blue. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is expected. Newly hired experienced nurses must attend new nurse orientation within the first 30 days of hire. Experience in a critical care setting preferred but new graduates will be accepted.
