Manufacturing Technician - Night Shift

Manufacturing Technician Overview Suit-Kote Corporation is seeking candidates to join our Asphalt Emulsion team at our Cortland, NY facility. This role supports the production of asphalt emulsion materials on 1st and 2nd shifts. Job Responsibilities Serve as a manufacturing technician to ensure timely production of asphalt emulsions used in road construction processes. Work with shift employees and internal team members to schedule production and related tasks to meet operational schedules and quality targets. Partner with the quality assurance group to meet product quality targets, adjusting production as necessary. Perform basic and preventive equipment maintenance (pumps, gauges, valves, etc.). Handle truck loading/unloading and coordinate with internal and third‑party drivers. Ensure safe handling of chemicals and high‑temperature products. Operate forklifts and manlifts safely as required. Required Skills/Abilities Strong work ethic and team orientation. Ability to perform basic calculations and formulas. Effective communication skills in a cross‑functional organization. Capability to work in a periodically fast‑paced environment. Willingness to work regular overtime and occasional weekend hours as needed. Reliable transportation to and from the work site (driver’s license preferred). Pass a pre‑employment drug and personal background screening. Must have or be willing to obtain a company‑sponsored OSHA 10‑Hour Safety Certificate. Physical Requirements Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Uncompromising commitment to safety and use of personal protective equipment. Must be able to work in an industrial environment. Ability to bend, stretch, stoop, kneel, crawl, and squat. Other Preferred Qualities Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office). Position is considered full time but seasonal in nature, with an anticipated lay‑off period from mid‑November to mid‑March.
