Senior Buyer

Responsibilities

• Execute and monitor purchase orders while maintaining proactive communication with suppliers regarding delivery timelines, shipment tracking, documentation, and any issues related to delivery, quality, or payment
• Maintain and validate ERP system data for assigned items, ensuring accuracy and integrity
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives to improve supplier performance across multiple commodity areas (electrical, mechanical, optical, and equipment)
• Serve as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams to resolve delivery, quality, and technical issues
• Support internal and external customer satisfaction through effective supply chain execution
• Ensure compliance with supply chain, accounting, and purchasing procedures
• Coordinate resolution of invoice discrepancies
• Identify and implement new part numbers and sourcing requirements
• Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting and proper cadence
• Develop, track, and present key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain performance

Required Experience & Capabilities

• Strong commitment to quality, attention to detail, and ownership of work
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining strong working relationships
• Proven ability to manage priorities independently and meet mid- to long-term objectives
• 1–5 years of experience in purchasing and/or supply chain; high-tech industry experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (experience with Dynamics AX is a plus)
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex and variable situations
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Dynamics, and Power BI
• Ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels

Work Environment

This role operates within a manufacturing environment where the buyer closely supports production and operations teams. The position involves frequent interaction with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment. The work setting may include time spent on the production floor as well as in an office environment, with a focus on meeting operational deadlines and maintaining a steady flow of materials through the supply chain.

This is a Contract position based out of Longmont, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
