Job Title

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Days

Carbondale, IL

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | Every other weekend and holidays required

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team
• Implement and evaluate patient care plans, providing explanations and instructions to patients and responsible parties
• Apply nursing clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition in a timely manner
• Meet Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care and maintain complete and accurate medical records
• Contribute to a healthy workplace environment by managing conflict using professional communication skills
• Participate in continuing education to maintain and advance clinical competency

Required Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Ability to manage a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio in a progressive care setting

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience caring for cardiac and respiratory patients in a PCU, IMC, or stepdown environment
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced unit with fluctuating patient acuity
