Business Banker / Teller - Floater

Job Description Title: Business Banker Floater Department: Branch Operations FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Branch Service Manager Date: 12-2025 General Summary: The Business Banker is responsible for performing intermediate duties and support related to branch operational activities and financial services; handles all teller transactional activity, processes all new account transactions; assists customers in their selection of various accounts and financial services; cross‑sells the Bank's products and services; opens, maintains and closes all account types; and refers customers to appropriate staff for new services. The position of Business Banker is also required to be fully knowledgeable and skilled in the areas of new account opening, teller work, and safe deposit. Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities Travel to all branches within the assigned area; travel to locations outside the area may be required from time to time (Orange County, Rockland County, Westchester County, Bronx). Provide support to all assigned areas of branch operations where service or assistance is needed, including platform area, teller line, and safe deposit. Provide service delivery to internal and external customers to resolve account service issues. Achieve and maintain customer satisfaction through excellence in service delivery, including follow‑up and problem resolution. Execute financial transactions in accordance with bank policies and procedures. Maintain a cash drawer to process client transactions. Handle large sums of cash accurately and efficiently, maintain cash limits, and perform all phases of teller work. Assist consumer and business customers in selecting various accounts, products and financial services available from the Bank; present cross‑sell opportunities by applying professional sales techniques. Interview customers to obtain information; establish proper identification of new customers; determine the need and extent of reference investigation. Prepare for audits. Alternate opening and closing of the branch with management. Maintain a working knowledge of the complete line of products and services offered; take responsibility to keep up to date and request assistance for further development needs. Assist with training or mentoring of the business banking staff as required. Adhere to operational controls, including legal, corporate, and regulatory procedures to ensure the safety and security of customers and bank assets. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding of Orange Bank & Trust and its clients’ assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations. Adhere to policy and procedures, apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and report control issues with transparency. Perform all other duties assigned by management. Education, Certification, Experience Required: High School Diploma or GED Preferred: Associate’s Degree Required Experience: Cash Handling Experience and at least 1 year of Customer Service Experience Preferred Experience: 2 years of Banking Experience and 1 year of Sales Experience Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required: Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times. Accurately count currency, friendly and outgoing personality, good customer service skills. Good decision‑making skills; must be able to make quick informed decisions and seek assistance when needed. Team player and works well with co‑workers and management. Ability to work with minimal supervision; position has a high level of confidentiality and accesses customers’ financial information, accounts, security procedures and closing procedures. High levels of internal & external contact with the public and departments. Preferred: Knowledge of banking industry regulations and internal processes and controls, procedures and workflow specifically in loan operations and commercial closings. Ability to operate effectively in a team environment and independently. Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast‑paced environment, demonstrated by a proven track record of multi‑tasking with a strong sense of urgency. Detail oriented and organized with excellent follow‑up, written and verbal skills. Demonstrate ability to apply required regulatory and policy requirements when making decisions. Knowledge of bank policies and procedures for the teller line and customer service, and good judgment skills. Ability to handle change, stress and the pressures of daily activity when multi‑tasking. Work Environment Flexibility to work additional hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as required. Typically the noise level in the work environment is low to moderate. High volume of interactions in person and over the telephone. Fast‑paced environment. May experience occasional job stress in response to job demands. Physical Demands Frequently required to sit for prolonged periods of time. Frequently required to talk and hear; normal range of vision and hearing abilities required. Mobility required to greet and assist employees and visitors. Frequently required to skillfully operate a computer, telephone and other standard office equipment.
