You keep production moving. On Weekend Days, you’ll arrive to a clean handoff, open your CMMS/L2L dashboard, and map out preventive tasks before the first line starts. A slicer alarms — you parse the PLC logic, trace a VFD fault, and get the Multivac back online. Later, you swap a servo, chase a 480V motor control issue, and button up a pneumatic leak so quality product keeps flowing. That’s a typical day for a Mechatronics Maintenance Technician at West Liberty Foods.

What you’ll tackle

• Own daily preventive maintenance and assigned work orders.
• Read and interpret mechanical/electrical diagrams and technical manuals.
• Diagnose and repair automated equipment (PLCs, VFDs, servos, sensors, vision systems).
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical breakdowns with urgency.
• Apply safe work practices and recognize occupational hazards.
• Operate lifts and material handling tools safely.
• Visually inspect and test machinery to verify performance.
• Participate on the HAZMAT team.
• Adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced production environment.

What you bring

• Experience: Background with automated systems (PLCs, Vision Systems), and preferably Textor/Weber/Multivac equipment. Comfortable with 480V, pneumatics, and reading prints/schematics/drawings. 2+ years in an industrial/mechanical role preferred. Computer skills for communication and data entry; experience with CMMS, L2L, and Google Suite preferred.
• Education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent in a related field preferred.
• Age: Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Environmental: Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
• Flexibility: Able to work overtime as needed and adjust quickly to changing demands.
