Chemical OperatorReports to: Plant ManagerShift: Monday to Friday – 8 hours/day - 4am - 12pm or 12pm - 8pmHourly rate: $25-$26The purpose of the Operator is to operate his/her assigned plant in a safe, lawful and efficient manner. This includes but is not limited to shutdown, startup, process control, acid transfers, etc. Possess a valid Stationary Engineer's licenseKey ResponsibilitiesOperate assigned plant in a safe, lawful and efficient manner.Report all equipment problems so they can bePerform maintenance as to abilities, normally during shut downs.Other duties as assigned by management.Environmental, Health & Safety ResponsibilitiesBecome familiar with the Chemtrade Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) policies and procedures.Immediately report all ES&H incidents (injuries, near misses, releases).Complete all required ES&H training in a timelyFollow all Chemtrade facility and corporate ES&H procedures andAttend and actively participate in facility ES&H meetings and forums that will drive employee involvement.Provide feedback and suggestions for ES&H programParticipate in job safety analysis activities.What You Need To Be SuccessfulHigh School Graduate or equivalent education preferredMust have or obtain in the time required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement a State of Ohio Stationary Engineer's License.Four years of general maintenance and repair experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have beenMust be able to read and write inAbility to communicate with courtesy and tact when furnishing or obtaining information from both fellow workers, supervisors and other departments.Must have an understanding of units of measure and weight and perform conversions. Good math and diagnostic skills to detect and evaluate critical situations.Works under direction and follows established procedures on most duties. Makes some decisions but refers most problems to SupervisorComputer Skills - Windows Operating System and MS Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel Plant Distributed Control System (DCS) for plant operations.Must possess excellent attention to detail.
