Cook/Cashier - Part Time, Smashburger (Harrah's SoCal) Location: Valley Center, CA, United States (On-site) Job Summary This position contributes to Smashburger and Harrah’s Southern California Resort success by providing fast, friendly and exceptional Family-Style Service to all guests with quality food, products and maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe store environment. The candidate will possess basic health knowledge and be able to educate guests about fresh products while modeling the Smashburger Guiding Principles and Harrah’s Mission, Values and Vision. Responsibilities Deliver exceptional and prompt service to all guests, executing Everyone Greets Everyone standard. Create a fun, high-pace experience for guests. Be knowledgeable of all menu items, make suggestions and answer questions. Process cash transactions, accept money, make change and present receipts. Keep register and restaurant areas clean, including dining tables, countertops, sinks, display shelves, storage and lounge areas. Handle and resolve any customer concerns or questions. Perform side work and stock supplies as assigned. Maintain attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies. Follow safety guidelines to foster a safe work environment. Comply with Smashburger and Harrah’s operational policies for cash handling, safety, and security during each shift. Complete any other task assigned by management. Engage in Funner activities with guests and teammates. Assemble orders for guests. Qualifications Excellent customer service and communication skills. Professional, friendly conversational abilities. At least 18 years of age. Ability to work independently with little supervision. Flexible to work any day of the week and any shift. Team player who gets along with co‑workers. Well‑groomed appearance. Read, write, speak, and understand English. Previous money‑handling and cash register experience preferred. Willingness to assist on the line cook if needed and to work in other food‑service outlets. Physical ability to work inside and maneuver throughout assigned station, in a high‑temperature, fast‑paced environment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, pull, and carry stock to refrigerator and cabinets. Manual dexterity for required side work. Ability to listen and respond to visual and aural cues. Tolerance for environments with secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust. Willingness to work variable hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Benefits and Compensation Pay: $20.50 per hour plus tips. Preference is given to qualified Rincon tribal members and members of other federally recognized tribes.
