Echo Technician

Job Summary Full Time, Days, Weekends Rotate. Perform all Echocardiogram procedures. If applicable, perform infant and pediatric echocardiograms. Work closely with the cardiologists and other departments. Maintain patient records and other documentation. Perform high level disinfection processes for equipment. Participate in the monthly CQI process, follow hospital standards and departmental policies and procedures. Ensure accurate and timely completion of studies, reports, charges and audits. Ensure patients and families are properly informed of the procedure and patient comfort is maximized. Responsibilities Perform routine duties of a registered echo sonographer under ICAEL standards. Prepare equipment and scanning area for patient procedures. Escort patients to room and assist in positioning for necessary scans. Notify physicians of critical findings and work with scheduler to schedule patients. Perform clerical and technical duties to improve patient care. Check equipment, accessories and supplies; keep areas stocked; clean equipment after each patient use and clean ultrasound rooms daily. Qualifications Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) obtained within 30 days of employment start date. High School Graduate / GED. Certified by RDMS/CCI as one or more of the following (RVT, RCIS, RVS, RCS) with registry in Echo. BCLS required. ACLS certification preferred. 1 year experience required.
