Case Planner

CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors, and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City, where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports they need to thrive. We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 180 integrated programs in education and youth development, family support, job training and employment support services, health, housing, and legal services. We reach almost 80,000 individuals and families, including almost 13,000 youth. CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families are living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.

The CAMBA's School-Based Early Support Program is a collaborative initiative with ACS designed to empower families and promote children's well-being within the school environment. This program offers a range of services and supports directly accessible to families through partnerships with local schools.

The case planner reports to the supervisor II and is located at 955 Flatbush Ave 4th Floor.

The case planner's responsibilities include:

• Family support and advocacy
• Client support and advocacy
• Child safety and well-being
• Case management
• Family engagement and casework contacts
• School partnership and outreach
• Collaboration and communication
• Professional demeanor

Minimum education/experience required:

• A bachelor of arts (BA), bachelor of science (BS), or bachelor of social work (BSW) degree

Other requirements:

• Minimum of two years of experience working with families and children in a community setting
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey respect, compassion, and empathy to clients
• Exceptional writing skills for clear, concise, and professional documentation, reports, and communication with various stakeholders
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Working knowledge of relevant databases and case management systems (a plus)
• Commitment to cultural competency and anti-oppressive practice
• Strong understanding of student support services, including IEPs, 504 plans, and SEL programs
• Bi-lingual English and Spanish or Haitian Creole (preferred)

Compensation: $53K-$55K annually
