Accounting Manager

General Description: Provides leadership and management of the organization's accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring fiscal integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective stewardship of organizational resources. Oversees all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process; prepares and analyzes financial statements; coordinates the annual budget and audit; and ensures compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards. Supervises a small accounting team, strengthens internal controls, improves financial systems and processes, and serves as a trusted financial partner to leadership in support of the organization's mission and strategic goals. : Actively manage the month, qtr, and year end close process, assuring compliance with GA APPreparation and communication of the financial statemen tsCreate, monitor, and enforce policies and procedures to ensure fiscal accountability and proper internal contro lsLead the annual budgeting proce ssKey liaison for the annual external audit and filing of 990 tax retu rnOversee cash manageme ntManagement of restricted donatio nsSystems lead with Concur (Invoice/Credit Cards) and Abila MIP (General Ledge r)Managers a team of 1-3 (AP Specialist, AR Associate, AP Voluntee r)Relationship management: banking, audit, tax, financial syste msEnsure integrity of cash, receivables, and payables manageme ntSupport effective staff development, training and engageme ntOther duties as assign Essential Qualifications/Capabiliti es: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or economics (accounting prefer red)Minimum 2-3 years experience actively managing end-to-end month close process and related activities; Minimum 5-7 years accounting experience with track record increasing responsibility (nonprofit experience a p rolsTechnical financial analysis skills: excel (pivot tables and advanced formulas), knowledge of advanced data manipulation and relational databases; MIP & Concur knowledge a plusExemplify and exhibit all the core values of MUST Ministries in establishing cross functional relationships with internal clients and managing people and processes with excellence and attention to de Physical and Work Requirem ents:Work is performed in an office environ ment.Requires sitting, sufficient mobility and physical refl exes.
