Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION : Cleans and sterilizes machinery, machine parts and equipment used to process or store products such as chemicals and tablets. Maintains and repairs the grounds by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Disassembles bins, totes, and portable equipment for cleaning.
2. Turns valves to drain machines or tanks and disconnects pipes. Sprays machines, tanks, tables, bowls, bins, and totes with water to loosen and remove dirt or other foreign matter.
3. Scrubs machines, tanks, tables, pans, bowls, bins and totes. Rinses articles with water and dries them with compressed air.
4. Connects hoses and lines to pump and starts pump to circulate cleaning and sterilizing solution through hoses and lines. Scrubs interior of disconnected pipes, valves, spigots, gauges, and meters.
5. Mixes cleaning solutions, sanitizing solutions and diluted acids.
   Responsible for cleaning the wash room and dry room.
6. Performs periodical cleaning maintenance on dust collectors.
   Performs general groundskeeping tasks which may include but not limited to mowing, weed eating, tree trimming, etc.
7. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform the essential duties summarized above and possess the skills and competencies summarized herein. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS : Must be able to (i) read and understand technical documents, such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; (ii) effectively communicate information and respond to questions, orally and in writing, in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL AND CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS : Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide both in American Standard and Metric Systems.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES : The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
